The Galean Technique

What is the Galen Technique?

First of all, I have to give you a brief biography of Galen, the father of medicine.

Galen was born at Pergamon on the western seaboard of Asia Minor (now Bergama, Izmir Turkey) in September 0f AD 129. His father was a wealthy architect. He was an able and intellectually curious student and learned much faster than anyone else. By age 14, he began to study philosophy, arithmetic, logic, and grammar. He considered that philosophy is indispensable to proper medical practice.

Galen was ahead of time in his medical knowledge and understanding. He contributed a substantial amount to the understanding of pathology, was a skilled surgeon, and was an expert in human anatomy. Another major contribution to medicine was his work on the circulatory system, did research about the human spine and neuroanatomy.

He regarded medicine as an interdisciplinary field that was best practiced by utilizing theory, observation, and experimentation in conjunction. Galen says that the soul follows the mixtures of the body and that the soul is a bodily mixture.

He also developed a treatment method for ailments of the mind providing counseling to prompt the patient to reveal their deepest passions and secrets and, eventually cure them of their mental deficiencies.

The person giving the treatment had to be a male, preferably of older wiser age, as well as free from the control of passions. Passions were the root of the mind’s psychological problems. In his method, he divided the soul into a tripartite consisting of similar aspects;

1- rational-------------- brain
2- spiritual------------- heart
3- appetitive------------ liver

He believed that each part of this tripartite soul controlled specific functions within the body and the soul as a whole, and contributed to the health of the body, strengthening the natural functioning capacity of the organ or organs in question. In energy healing, we deal with the soul and spirit and mind in order to work on all “passions” that are affecting the mind ending in the alteration of the organ's function causing disease or illness.

My connection with Galen and Theta Healing & Intuitive Anatomy happened to visit the ruins of Pergamon in Bergama, Turkey. I had a strong feeling that I had to go to Turkey not knowing that besides seeing the beauty of the country and learning more of the history, I was going to have an encounter with a past life of mine.

As I walked into the place, my energetic vibration changed. I started to see everything as it was during those days when Galen had his prestigious medical center. I saw myself as one of the elderly giving treatment to patients.

The medical center offered space for meditation while surrounded by the element of water and air. Pristine spring water ran in canals next to the patient’s bed, and a hole in the ceiling caused a tunnel effect for better air circulation. The patient was able to connect to the sounds of water and air, and during the night was able to see the sky and the stars. The relaxation obtained through this experience helped the therapist to get the person into a meditative stage.

I had my “Aha” moment knowing that after being a physician practicing western medicine for more than 40 years, now I was ready to continue my journey as a healer but in a different way. That’s why I decided to name my way of energy healing The Galen Technique. I am a medical doctor, a physician, an intuitive, and a healer.
